The file comes to me as a comma delimited file. Path to each file absolute or relative is stored right in the database field.

John, there is no need to define path separately. In order to even attempt to come up with a direct conversion you'd almost have to know the language page code ছোট বোন কে চà§à¦¦à¦²à¦¾à¦® is in use on the computer that created the file.

You require only to change the field names ছোট বোন কে চà§à¦¦à¦²à¦¾à¦® red. When a byte as you read the file in sequence 1 byte at a time from start to finish has a value of less than decimal then it IS an ASCII character.
